Why some disks cannot be played on VCD players or DVD players?

Not all the VCD/DVD players support all CD-R and CD-RW disks. You may refer to the User Guide of the VCD/DVD player; there are instructions on the player's compatibility with CD-RW and CD-R.

Why can’t some video files be added to the source list shown by a "No Correct Decoder installed!" message?

To carry out all the functions of the software completely, you should install both directX8.0 and Divx5.02 or above on your system. Otherwise some files in some special formats cannot be used. More, only MPEG1 and AVI file can be burned to VCD, and only MPEG2 files to SVCD. Besides, as a result of the complicated encoding solution, it is possible that a few video files cannot be recognized.

Sometimes the files cannot be previewed though they can be added. Why? What does the message "Invalid media format" mean ?

As a default, MPEG2 files cannot be supported by a serious of Windows operating systems.
This can be solved by installing other media player software on your system, such as Power DVD.
